WORLD MASTERS

Molly, Maril, Angie, and Lisa went to the World Masters Championship in Princeton looking to have a good time and a strong showing. And they had a good bit of both. After winning 2 doubles, a pairs race and the quad they went into the last day of racing satisfied but not content. They entered two more races the mixed quad and the mixed 8+ and dominated them both. All told the four ladies won 14 gold medals, everyone came home with a great deal of hardware and even more new stories and great new friends.

I would like to thank everyone in the Austin rowing community for their support as we practiced and trained in hopes to reach these goals.

Thank You All
Charles Barksdale

LSRA survives off the donations and patronage of you, the rower. Please support our organization. Every dollar we receive goes back into the association.

Our first goal is to buy a launch through corparate sponsorship. The chosen sponsor will benefit by having their company logo on the launch. This will be visible to the large number of people who use Town Lake.

We also need your help. If you know of any corporations that would be interested please drop us a line!

New Buoys,
The LSRA has begun buoying some of the underwater hazards on town lake. These buoys are 3” red marker buoys. The hazards currently marked are the two shoals on the west and east side of the MoPac bridge. We have also marked the shallow that has been created by the drainage ditch between MoPac and Lamar. With city permission additional hazards will be marked.

Right-of-Way sign on bridges
If the parks and recreation department agrees will begin marking the bridges this summer. The first bridges to be marked will be the train bridge and the MoPac bridge.
